10 Tips For Enjoying the Outdoors With Kids

04.07.2009 by admin in My Baby

It’s rejuvenating to become one with nature while breathing some fresh air. So, grab the kids and hit the trails. Don’t expect to get the workout you’re used to, but do expect to have some good ‘ol family fun. Here are a few tips to make your hike more enjoyable.

1. Keep in mind the ages of your kids and choose your trail accordingly. Research family-friendly hikes in your area on Trails.com.

2. If you plan to carry your child in a hiking baby-backpack, make sure to put a hat on your baby.

3. If you choose to bring a stroller, remember you’ll need one with bigger wheels that can cover the terrain (rocks, sticks, bumps, you get the idea). Jogging strollers are perfect for long hikes.

4. Choose your trail carefully and find trails that are stroller accessible. Also, wider paths are safer for children regardless if you are bringing a stroller or not.
