Banoffee trifle

by admin in Recipes

Ingredients

* 2 x 380g cans Nestle Caramel
* Top ‘n’ Fill
* 1 / 4 cup brandy
* 1 / 4 cup warm water
* 2 x 300ml tubs thickened cream
* 250g sponge finger biscuits, chopped
* 2 ripe bananas, diagonally sliced
* Extra 2 ripe bananas, diagonally sliced

1. Place caramel, brandy and water in a bowl. Whisk until almost smooth.
2. Place thickened cream in a large bowl. Beat with an electric mixer until firm peaks form.
3. Arrange half the biscuits over base of a serving bowl (9-cup capacity). Layer with half the caramel mixture, half the cream and both bananas. Repeat layering with remaining biscuits, caramel mixture and cream. Cover and refrigerate, overnight.
4. Just before serving, decorate trifle with extra sliced bananas.

Tip: For a change, banana, hazelnut or coffee-flavoured liqueur can be substituted for the brandy. If you prefer, trifle can be made in individual dishes. Decorate with chocolate curls.
