As long as the chemicals are appropriately monitored, swimming in a chlorinated pool isn’t a problem at all. It might actually make you feel good ” especially later in your pregnancy ” to float in the water.

I don’t know that anybody has looked at this. But as far as I know, there’s no data indicating an increased risk for birth defects associated with swimming in properly chlorinated pools. In fact, getting into an unchlorinated pool might be more of a risk in terms of the potential risk of acquiring an infection.
